Michael Wayne Walker, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at his home. Mike was born on April 20, 1953 in Clarksdale, MS to James K and Johnnie Faye Walker. He married Vickie Liles on August 31, 1973. Together they had three daughters. Mike retired from Kroger and did factory work for several years until he purchased a country store in Randolph and later in the Springville community. Known to many as "OLD GOAT", he loved his friends and customers, but more importantly, taking care of his wife.
Mike is survived by his three daughters; Christy Taylor(Mike), Misty McKnight(Emmett), and Heather Taylor; 9 granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister Barbara Dillon; and one brother Allen Walker.
Preceding him in passing is his wife Vickie Walker and his parents James K and Johnnie Faye Walker.
Services will be Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2PM at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Pete Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Carey Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5-7PM and again on Friday from 1PM until service time all at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Mike Taylor, Emmett McKnight, Will Stepp, Landon Tutor, Sean Walker, and Reid Chapman.
