Stanley L. Barnes

March 29, 1961 – March 29, 2024

The Battle is not yours, it’s the lord’s. With encouraging words, helping hands, and a big smile, Stanley Lewis Barnes fought the good fight. His race began on March 29, 1961 in Mendenhall, MS, to the late Sandy Lee Barnes, Jr. and Maggie Lee Barnes and ended on March 29, 2024 in D’LO, MS in the presence of his loved ones. Stanley accepted our lord and savior Jesus Christ at an early age and he joined St. Mary M.B. Baptist Church.

He was the second to the youngest of 5 children. Stanley was a graduate of Mendenhall High School and was a fan of all sports. He participated in football, baseball, fishing, hunting, etc. He loved traveling, being around family, caring for his cats, and helping others in need.

Stanley was driven by his sweet and kind spirit of caring for others, which he later began his career in the medical field as a Lab Technician.  He had several years of experience working alongside doctors in New York and Mississippi until his health declined. He was very knowledgeable about his job and enjoyed giving others advice on how to care for themselves.

In 1979, he married Lou Mary Walker and was blessed with 3 children whom he loved.

Stanley was welcomed home by his parents, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, and host of cousins.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three children, Shanna Morgan (Kenneth), D’LO, MS, Cory Barnes, D’LO, MS, and Asia Barnes, Arlington, TX. Four sisters, Barbara Allen, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Paulette Agnew (Johnny) Baldwyn, MS, Marilyn Floyd (Arzen), and Dinah Walker (Michael) all of D’LO, MS, six grandchildren, five aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
