Gary Peters
Baldwyn- Gary Norman Peters, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the NMMC hospice. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, taking care of farm animals and spending time with family and his grandchildren. He worked for Pepsi Cola as a maintenance man. Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a faithful Christan and member of the South Prentiss Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Tuesday May 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Titus Tyer officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Ivanell Baswell Peters; daughter, Tina Hopkins (Jason) of Marietta; 2 sons, Nathan Peters (his special friend Micheal Osborne) and Barry Peters both of Baldwyn; 2 sisters, Tresa Hall (Fred) of Saltillo and Lorraine Sandlin of Baldwyn; 2 brothers, Kenny Peters (Phylis) of Baldwyn and Trent Peters (Jean) of Baldwyn; 3 grandchildren, Keith Hopkins, Noah Hopkins and Zoey Hopkins;2 sisters-in-laws, Janice Peters of Marietta and Virginia Peters of Saltillo, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Orvil and Wilma Cook Peters; brothers, Ricky Peters, Danny Peters and Larry Peters; sister-in-law Joyce Peters.
Pallbearers include Jason Hopkins, Keith Hopkins, Noah Hopkins, Michael Osborne, Joey Peters and Steven Dees.
Visitation will be Monday May 25, 2026 at Waters Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
