FULTON – Michael Dennis Harper, 70, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born July 24, 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Cecil Ray and Juanita Alexander Harper. Most of his life, he lived in Tampa, Florida, before moving to Mississippi to be closer to his sister and niece. He worked in the hotel industry and drove for a delivery company. He enjoyed playing tennis and bingo, and doing yard work. He loved to watch NASCAR and football, and in his younger days enjoyed dancing and having barbecues with family.
His memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Crossroads Church, 17904 Old Hwy. 25 North, Fulton, MS 38843. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Michael leaves behind his niece and her husband, Helen and David Whitten; great-nephew, Justin; one brother, Charles Harper (Nancy); many nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friends, Ms. Hazel, Linda Scott, Preacher Jerry and LaDonna Aldridge, and the Gordon family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Juanita Harper; his sister, Wanda; three brothers, Jeff, Robert, and Raymond; and two nephews, Fred and Christopher.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the people at the Fulton elderly apartments, the NMMC Hospice Unit, and Three Rivers for the care provided during this time. Each of you helped him in ways you will never understand.
