Les was born on June 17, 1955, in Trenton, NJ, to the late Julia and Lester S. Bohony. He was raised in Delran, New Jersey, where he attended Holy Cross Catholic School. He played baseball and basketball while completing his full 12 years at the school. Earning his undergraduate degree from Drexel University, Les discovered a lifelong passion for education in the field of engineering. He began work in a nuclear power plant and then, for most of his career worked for Lockheed Martin, where he held many engineering positions. Les was known for his intelligence, possessing a careful attention to detail when it came to his work and personal projects. When his work took him and his wife, Jo, to Tokyo for several years, they developed a love for travel and experiencing different cultures.

Following his retirement, they began to travel more, especially enjoying international cruises to Iceland, Thailand, and Ireland. Les treasured many of the unique memories that were made during their travels, like ziplining in Columbia and seeing the Pope during a visit to Vatican City. He and Jo looked for any opportunity to live life to the fullest and were fearless in their pursuit. They took up ballroom dance lessons, falling in love with the artistry of the dance, and practicing it for 10 years. They mastered the tango, cha-cha, rumba, salsa, and their most favorite, the hustle. Great friendships were fostered within their dance community, many of which they began taking cruises with. He looked after others with a quiet patience and reliability that brought comfort and security to those around him. Les lived a life full of laughter, travel, friendship, and most of all, the love of his wife and closest friend, Jo.

Les is survived by his wife, Jo Bohony of Batesville, MS; two step-sons, Thomas Campbell and his wife, Jen, of Denver, CO and Scott Campbell and his wife, Mandy, of Virginia Beach, VA; cousins, Bill Ball (Nancy) of New Jersey and Debbie Farley (Dennis) of Pennsylvania; and a large extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions in Les’ memory may be made to the Tubb Spay and Neuter Project, 7 County Road 105, Oxford, Mississippi 38655.
