Arliss Janice Sage

FULTON – Arliss J. Sage, 90, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at her home after a brief illness.  Arliss was born October 4, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, to George and Marie Ownby.  She married Marshall C. Sage I on June 12, 1954. She was a housewife and a devoted mother to her four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of Fulton United Methodist Church where she loved to help do the bulletins and monthly newsletter. She participated in the church choir until she was not able to get around.  She loved to paint and even painted the church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with the Rev. Smith Lilley officiating.  Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Arliss is survived by two daughters, Sister Sharon L. Sage of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, and Dondra Ragsdale (Robert) of Fulton; one son, Marshall C. Sage II (Rhonda) of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Jerri Lynn Chandler and Marshall House (Brii), both of Fulton, and Chase Cleveland of Red Bay, AL; step grandchildren, John Ragsdale (Tracie) of Tennessee and Ashley Ragsdale of Fulton; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Ownby (Maxine) and Jerry Ownby (Mary), of Dowagiac, Michigan; and a special and kindred friend, Diane Mink, of Fulton.

Arliss was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Ownby and Bill Ownby; and sister, Diane McHugh, all of Michigan; her husband of 68 years, Marshall; and a daughter, Robin Cleveland of Red Bay, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Tab Bennett, Ceasar Herrera, Robert Ragsdale, Marshall House, Chase Cleveland, and Conner Christian.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
