FULTON, MS/HUDDLESTON, VA – Charlene Gambill, 91, formerly of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, at her son's home in Huddleston, Virginia. She was born March 31, 1933, to Everette Wheeler and Lola Mae Franks Mears. A child of God, Charlene retired as a church secretary and was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and shopping. She was loved by all.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 17, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Kevin Balius officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Ronnie Taylor (Brenda) of Huddleston, VA, and Jenny Johnson (Vernon) of Fulton; her grandchildren, Candy Sheffield (Mark), Ginger Hugely (Keith), Brian Price (Allison), Sabrina Price, Mike Johnson (Elizabeth), and Danny Johnson (Sherry); her great-grandchildren, Sierra Gray, Summer Buse (Tyler), Austen Hugely, Zack Sheffield (Emily), Ben Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Baylee Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Irvin (Jim); two brothers, Roger Mears (Lu) and Kenneth Mears; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Gambill; grandson, Chuck Taylor; great-grandson, Scott Gray; her parents, Everette and Lola Mears; three brothers, Horace Mears, Billy Mears, and Bobby Mears; and two sisters, Betty Shelton and Cathy Stull.
Pallbearers will be Tim Strange, Mike Johnson, Mike Irvin, Mark Sheffield, Tyler Buse, and Jim Irvin.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
