John Brooks Briscoe

Mr. John Brooks Briscoe, 61, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Oxford, Mississippi. The funeral will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gray and The Rev. Jennifer Southall officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in West Hall of Waller Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Burial will follow the service in Clear Creek Cemetery.

John was born on May 28, 1963, in Pontotoc, MS, to Barbara Ferrell and Bobby Gene Briscoe. Well-known for his work as a farmer, he was the owner of Briscoe & Sons Farm. John was a devoted member of his community, sitting on the board of directors for North East Mississippi Power Association and the Soil and Water Conservation Service, and attended Union West Baptist Church. He was a loving father and husband who will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to know him. John was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Briscoe and brother, Paul Stacy Briscoe.

John is survived by his wife, Dana Tatum Briscoe; mother, Barbara Briscoe; daughters, Sarah Grace Hollowell and her husband, William, and Mabrey Briscoe; son, Bradley Briscoe and his wife, Kelli Mize; sister, Michelle McAuley and her husband, Robert; and one granddaughter, Olivia Briscoe; all of Oxford, MS.
