Saltillo- Michael Earl McCraw, 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, following an extended illness. Mike was born in New Albany, MS on June 3, 1960, to Earl Franklin McCraw and Shirley Ann Timmons. Mike was a 1978 graduate of Tupelo High School and afterward attended ICC and The University of Mississippi. Mike was especially proud of his time served with National Guard. A mama’s boy through and through, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Brandi Torres (Micah); two grandsons, Michael McCraw and Wes Torres of Fulton; his mother, Shirley Timmons Burgeson of Tupelo; two brothers, Sammy McCraw (Tonya) of Tupelo and Tracey Burgeson (Janet) of Blue Springs; two sisters, Leshia Beltz (Daryl) of Waxhall, North Carolina, and Lorie Lane (Josh) of Enid.
Affectionately known as Uncle Mike, he adored each of his nieces and nephews: Jacob, Sarah, and Jason Beltz; Gabby and Natalie Ositis, Brayden, Taylor Ann, and Sam Burgeson; Eli Gregory, Gabriel, Grayson, and Sawyer Lane.
Mike was preceded in death by his son, Steven McCraw, his father, Earl McCraw, and his stepfather David Burgeson.
A service celebrating Mike’s life will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 13, at Water’s Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Johnny Ware officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Pontotoc Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Mark Harsin, Mike Edwards, Philip Raper, Steve Hall, Brad Smith, Derrick Timmons, Darren Timmons, and Eddie Timmons.
