Sam L. Bridges
Saltillo- Sam L. Bridges, 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 08, 2025 at his home. He was a factory worker, enjoyed dancing, fishing, washing and cleaning cars, gathering with people under shade trees. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Fairfield Presbyterian Church and he attended Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Friday at 11:00 a. m. with Bro. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in McNeil Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Jason Bridges (Teresa) of Birmingham Ridge; sister, Charlene B. Adams (Scottsboro, AL); brothers, Edward Bridges (Joyce) of Blue Springs, Gerald Bridges (Yvonne) of Birmingham Ridge and Randy Bridges of Altitude; (4) grandchildren, Hannah B. Gordon (Jared) of Saltillo, Ryan Bridges of Birmingham Ridge, Noah Bridges of Murfreesboro, TN and (his fiancé Olivia Letson of Saltillo); and Gracie Bridges of Houston, MS; special friend, Linda Jane Enis of Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Hazel Gordon and Harleigh Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Bridges; parents, Quitman “Tip” and Grace Adams Bridges; son, Chad Bridges, brothers, W.F. “Pete” Bridges, James “Duck” Bridges and Billy Gene Bridges; special friend, Omi McCreary.
Pallbearers will be Phil Lansdell, Steve McBrayer, Mark Timmons, Ryan Bridges, Noah Bridges and Jared Gordon.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a. m.
