Danny Thompson passed away June 2, 2026, at his home in Unity Mississippi. Danny was born on July16, 1951 to his parents JT and Willie Pearl Thompson who lived in Itawamba County. Danny grew up in Mantachie Mississippi where he spent many happy days playing with his sister Patty and his brother Jason, attending school, and making lifelong friends. Danny spent his working career in Tupelo where he worked for the Super Sagless Corporation and eventually retiring from Omega Motion.

Danny was a very soft-spoken man who didn’t talk much but had so many hidden talents. He enjoyed woodworking and building birdhouses and furniture as a hobby. He also enjoyed photography and painting landscapes. He always planted a garden and had some beautiful tomatoes every year.

Danny loved country and gospel music and never missed watching Westerns on TV. Traveling to the mountains with his wife Doris was one of his greatest joys-they were always by each other’s side. Known as “ Pop” to his grandchildren, he cherished camping trips with them. Danny treasured spending time with his family and friends whether it was at church, birthday parties, or special events. He also adored his small dog, Little Mac.
