Bert James Rosson, Sr, 92, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Oxford, MS. He was born February 23, 1934, in Wagner, OK to the late George H. Rosson and Opal Pray Rosson. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bert graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy and then the University of Oklahoma from which he obtained a marketing degree in 1957. While in college, Bert roughnecked for Noble Drilling Company. It as through this experience Bert developed a love for the Oil and Gas Industry and made it his lifetime career.
Bert participated in the ROTC program at OMA and OU. After completing all the requirements, he earned a commission in the U.S. Army. After serving eleven years in active duty and reserve status, he resigned his commission as a Captain.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a daughter, Julie Ann, and granddaughter, Peyton Meredith. He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Prestage (Nat); son Bert J Rosson, Jr; three grandchildren, Pagie Blackburn (Scott), Taylor Rosson (Shelby), and Hunter Beaugey (Danielle); and four grandchildren, Charles Blackburn, Margaret Blackburn, Shephard Rosson, and Scottie Rosson.
