Chuck was born May 25, 1932 in Kosciusko, MS to Wilburn and Lillian Fowler. He was married to his bride, Mary, for 63 amazing years. They raised two sons and adopted their granddaughter. Chuck loved people and traveling. He rarely sat still and was always looking out to help others. He loved his wife’s cooking and his favorite dessert was coconut cake.

Bro. Chuck surrendered to the ministry in 1964. His wife, Mary, who preceded him in death, was a big influence in winning him over to the Lord. Prior to him becoming a pastor, he served in the military serving as a Corporal and was a barber by trade. He graduated from Bible College in Orlando, FL, and then later attended Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. For many years he and his wife pastored all over the United States serving the Lord. He loved being a social person thriving off helping others as well as his family. He truly dedicated his life to not only his friends but his family leaving a legacy of faith, devotion, and selflessness that touched everyone around him.

In 2002 he retired in Oxford, MS where he settled. He also was a Chaplain for the State of Mississippi for Disabled Veterans for eight years and served as the President for the last year. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and member of the American Legion. Serving others in his ministries was truly his passion. He traveled all over the world and could lead you anywhere you wished nearly without a map. No matter if you needed help he was always there to lend a helping hand to all of his family and friends and if he didn’t have an answer you can rest assured he would make sure to find someone who could. He never met a stranger where he went and could strike a conversation with anyone. He loved visiting people in the hospital and in their home. Another prominent passion in his life was Ole Miss Athletics. If there was a game on tv or in person, he was caught watching or attending. He and his granddaughter, Jordan, both shared the love of Ole Miss together attending various basketball and baseball games together. For the past few years he has made Beau Ridge his home in Oxford. He has made a multitude of dear friends and has enjoyed being a part of this establishment.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fowler; parents, Wilburn and Lillian Fowler; one son, David Fowler; seven brothers; and four sisters.

Bro. Chuck is survived by one son, Richard Charles Fowler of Banner, MS; one daughter, Tina Watts (Ben) of Oxford, MS; four grandchildren Stormy Fowler, Krystal Fowler, both of Georgia, Katie Carol Fowler of Water Valley, MS, and Keith Hall of Utah; nine great -grandchildren, Lauren Simmons (Brantley) of Water Valley, MS, Jordan Heuser, Ella Brooke all of Oxford, MS, Trinity, Tabitha, Alexis, Kristopher, Damien, Blake, Mahayla, Maverick, all of Georgia; and three great-great grandchildren Bodie, Aaliyah, and Zavion, all of Water Valley, MS.
