Mrs. Dorothy Mae Tidwell Young, 87, died Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Holly Springs Health and Rehab.  The funeral service will be Monday, June 1, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30. Burial will follow in College Hill Cemetery. *In accordance with guidelines issued by the State of Mississippi and the City of Oxford, social distancing guidelines will be followed and face coverings will be required.  No more than 50 people are permitted indoors and will be required to maintain the mandated safe distance from others.  If you or someone living with you is experiencing fever, cough or other symptoms related to COVID 19, have tested positive for COVID 19 or are awaiting test results for COVID 19, we kindly ask that you do not attend. Additionally, and for your safety and the safety of others, if you are immunocompromised or have been told you fall into a high-risk health category, we kindly ask that you not attend.* 

Born in Oxford, MS, to the late Hugh “L.D.” and Myrtle Pullum Tidwell, Mrs. Young was the widow of Mr. James Albert Young. She was a longtime employee of Kellwood, Jitney Jungle and the Oxford Fabric Center and a member of Anchor Baptist Church.  She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.  She held immense pride and love for her precious grandchildren, Tabatha Burk and Amanda Eubanks and great-grandchildren, Jacob Burk, Morgan Burk, Jarred Burk, Justin Ales, Sheradon Ales, Austin Eubanks and Kasen Eubanks.

Additionally, she is survived by her daughter, Sandra Sullivan and her husband, Malcolm of Water Valley, MS; three sisters, Audrey Fiew of Water Valley, MS, Colene Briggs of Casa Grande, AZ and Colista Walls of Water Valley, MS and one brother, Don Tidwell of Water Valley, MS.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Young’s memory may be made to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, 848 Adams Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103.
