Allie Lee Collins Costin Gulledge, thy good and faithful servant, age 95 was escorted by a heavenly host of angels on May 31, 2020 to meet her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus and to be reunited with her immediate loved ones.

As a young bride in the early 1940’s, Allie’s husband, Marvin Costin passed away, leaving her to raise a young daughter and the son they were expecting.  To support her family, Allie earned a registered nursing degree and practiced nursing at the paper mill and the hospital in Bruce.  Years later, she met and married Arnold Gulledge to whom she was married until his passing in 2014.  Allie enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.  She faithfully served in women’s missions and led Sunday School at First Baptist Church Bruce.

Born in Calhoun County February 25, 1925, Mrs. Gulledge was the last surviving child of the late Miles and Virgie Collins of Bruce, Mississippi.  She was preceded in death by her late husband, Marvin Costin; late husband, Arnold Gulledge; grandson, Jeff Nix; daughter, Barbara Nix; son, Marvin Costin; brothers, James Collins, Doyle Collins, and Bayne Collins; and sister, Jeanette Collins King.

Mrs. Gulledge is survived by a son-in-law, Mike Nix, the husband of the late Barbara Costin Nix of Mountain Home, Arkansas and their children Susan, Sondra, Paula, Shane, Paige, and Shanna.  She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Dian Costin, the wife of the late Marvin Costin of Big Creek and their children Drew, Jason, and Tina.  Other survivors of her family include her great and great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service for the family will be held on June 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m at the Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, Mississippi.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Baptist Children’sVillage, 114 Marketridge Drive, Ridgeland, MS 39157
