Mrs. Susan Elaine Thweatt Polley, 69, died Saturday, July 11, 2020, at her home in Oxford. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 2020, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born in Lafayette County, MS, to the late David Elvin and Ozie Lee Cromwell Thweatt, Mrs. Polley was a retired commercial agent with Oxford Insurance Agency. She was a former member of South Oxford Methodist Church and enjoyed attending gatherings and worship at The Old Methodist Campground. Mrs. Polley was an ever present, nurturing and devoted mother and grandmother and relished in every moment spent with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle King Lynch and her husband, Rory of Oxford; a sister, Patricia Thweatt Watts and her husband, Tommy of Oxford and a grandson, Cole Herring of Starkville, MS.

  1. Hello Polley Family, I want to say that I am deeply sorry for your loss, and would like to share a scripture that brings me comfort during times such as this. It is found at Acts 24:15 which says, “15 And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Here we see that there will be a time when God, whose name is Jehovah is going to bring our loved ones back to life. This is a time many people look forward to. I hope this message is a source of encouragement for the family.
