BRUCE – Roger "Hoss" Lamar Barnett, 67, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford, MS.  He was a devoted christian man. A very talented musician and guitar player, he enjoyed southern rock music, especially Stevie Ray Vaughn and Lynard Skynard. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.

He is survived by his brothers, Don Barnett(Debbie) of Nashville, TN and George Barnett of Calhoun City, MS; his sister, Cathie Tallant(Ricky) of Bruce, MS; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margarett Barnett; his father, Walter Barnett; and his brother, Patrick Allen Barnett.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11AM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc.  Burial will follow in Robbs Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Anthony Barnett, Ethan Barnett, Shawn Barnett, Randy Smith, Steven Aston, and Don Barnett.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 1st, 10AM until service time.

  1. Dear Barnett family, you have my deepest condolences in this time of bereavement. The loss of a loved one can bring great pain and sorrow, but our loving God has given us a promise of seeing loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. It’s found at Acts 24:15, “There is going to be a resurrection” what a loving promise and you can see your loved ones again. I hope this is a source of encouragement to the family.
