Rev. Lugene Walker, 58, transitioned on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his residence in Water Valley, MS. 
On January 5, 1962, Minister Lugene Walker, known as “Lu" was born to the parents of the late Willie Bell and James Walker.
He confessed Christ at an early age at Everdale Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS, then he later joined Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS, where he was a faithful member.
His formal graduation was at Water Valley High School  in Water Valley, MS. He was employed with Parker Hannifin in Batesville, MS. Lugene was united in holy matrimony to the late Beverly Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters: Patrice Walker of Water Valley, MS, Lakeisha Walker and Brittany Wesley of Coffeeville, MS, goddaughter:  Cassie Odell of Oxford, MS, one son: Wesley (Chanita) Walker of Water Valley, MS, two step-children: Reginal and Josiah Tenner of Water Valley, MS, three brothers: Curtis (Bessie) Robinson of Detroit, MS,  James (Doris) Jenkins of Oxford, MS and Robert (Beverly) Walker of Walter Valley,  MS, three sisters: Birda (Cleveland) Brown of Coffeeville,  MS, Dorothy (James) Haywood of Omaha, NE, Ruby Walker of Water Valley, MS, three grandchildren; Quatricia  Franklin, Kentrell Walker, Lafaysha Martin, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Beverly Walker, his parents: Willie Bell and James Walker, one brother: Leon Robinson, and one daughter: Felicia Walker.

Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley. Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5-7p.m. at Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel in Water Valley.
