Services to celebrate the life of Nelma Mitchell, 81, will be held Thursday at 5:00 pm at Tuscumbia Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Tuscumbia Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Rodney Whittemore will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 pm until service time at the church.
Nelma died on Wednesday, August 18, 2020 at Jackson Madison Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 27, 1938 to the late J. R. and Estelle Barnes. She was a member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and working in her yard.
She is survived by her son, Todd Mitchell; daughter, Donna Mitchell; sister, Regetta Leatherwood; grandchildren; Jeremy Mitchell, Jacy Barnes, Kaleb Mitchell, Wyatt Mitchell, Wynter Mitchell and great-grandchildren, Tripp, Ella, Nora, Evelyn Mitchell and Atley Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Mitchell; daughter, Sandy Mitchell and her brothers and sisters.
