Ms. Sydney Gail Jackson, 71, died Sunday, August 16, 2020, at her home in Oxford, MS. A visitation for Ms. Jackson will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Waller Funeral Home with a funeral service following in the Chapel with Rev. Michael Holland officiating.

Born to the late John Sidney and Kathryn Hitt Jackson, Ms. Jackson was a retired Human Resources Coordinator for Harrah’s entertainment. She also worked at RSVP as a foster grandparent. She volunteered at Bramlett in the Pre-K. She was a devout member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. She was a sweet, Christian lady and always tried doing the right thing. Her faith never wavered during her illness, and she loved her Jesus. Ms. Jackson moved to Memphis, TN in 1970 where she worked for Holiday Inn’s. She worked as the Executive Secretary for Jim House of Holiday Inn’s. She loved her dog, Jacke. They were together for 12 years. She was also a very beautiful lady and loved by her friends and family.

Ms. Jackson is survived by two sons, Brett Holland of Lakeland, TN and John Holland or Bartlett, TN; a step-daughter, Julia Kelly of Independence, MS; two sisters, Bobbye  Shields of Oxford, MS and Phoebe Corder, and her husband, Jerry of Collierville, TN; four grandchildren, Amber Sky Holland of Oxford, MS, Kayla Rhea Holland of Honolulu, HI, Carla Childs of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Johnathan Holland of Bartlett, TN; two step-grandchildren, Elise Kelly of Independence, MS, and Cole Kelly of Independence, MS; one great-grandchild, Giovanni Sky Middleton of Honolulu, HI; and her best friend, Brenda Ceprini of Oxford, MS.
