Mrs. Georgia Mae Parks, 80, transitioned on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Georgia Mae was born to McClain Usher and Johnnie Mae Bryson on January 30, 1940 in Pontotoc County.
Georgia Mae was a great woman with a big heart. She graduated from Union County Trading School (U.C.T.S.). She loved to take care of people, which she did until her retirement. She was also a member of Union Grove M.B. Church.
Georgia Mae leaves to cherish her memories: two grandchildren: Letonia (Willie) Strong of New Albany, Mississippi and Kenneth (Jacqueline) Brown of Kileen, Texas, three great-grandchildren: Edna Faye (Tevin) Bradley of New Albany, Mississippi, Octavious Rutherford of Kileen, Texas, and Truth Brown of Booneville, Mississippi, one brother: Walter (Ruth) Smith of New Albany, Mississippi, four great-great-grandchildren: Grayson, Brooklyn, Legend and Ryleigh, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: McClain Usher and Johnnie Mae Bryson, her daughter: Edwina Usher Brown, and her great-grandson: Christopher O’Neil Brown
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 12 Noon until 2p.m. at Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany. Burial will take place at Jamison Grove Church Cemetery in New Albany. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
