Jimmy Allen Lucius

July 24, 1938 – August 23, 2020

Jimmy Allen Lucius, 82, of Bruce passed from this life on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on July 24, 1938, in Calhoun City, Jimmy was a son to the late  Wesley Wade “Pete” Lucius and Myrtie Therrell Lucius.

Jimmy, a National Guard veteran, spent many years of his life ready to help his community, state, and country in a time of emergency. He was employed with the Weyerhaeuser Corporation for many years before retiring. Jimmy spent many seasons of his life in the great outdoors, a place that he cherished. He had a passion for hunting various types of game, but found the most excitement deer hunting. Jimmy not only enjoyed hunting, but also fishing when the weather was right and the fish were biting. He believed in the Lord and the promise of eternal life after passing from this Earth. He celebrated his Lord and Savior at Victory Baptist Church.

Jimmy leaves behind a loving family to carry his memory in their hearts for the remainder of their days; precious wife Patricia Hamblin Lucius, two sons: Randy (Joy) Lucius of Belden; Tony (Stephanie) Lucius of Grenada, four grandchildren: Jacob Lucius, Nathaniel Lucius, Caleb Lucius, Chris Lucius, and  three great grandchildren: Mena Lucius , Arwen Lucius and Tyler Reed; a God daughter: Wendy (Chad) Cross, Bruce: two God grandchildren: Savannah Baker and Jaden Smith; one brother, William Frank “Snap”  Lucius of Mooreville; one god granddaughter, Wendy Cross. Jimmy was a lover of his fur babies and extended family, Hoppie Dale, Sissy and Shaggy.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Wesley Wade “Pete” Lucius and Myrtie Therrell Lucius,  one sister, Geneva Shackelford and one brother, Wayne Lucius.

The funeral service remembering Jimmy’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Kelly officiating. Caleb Lucius, Chris Lucius, Danny Lucius, Jacob Lucius, Jeff Lucius, and Nathaniel Lucius will carry Jimmy to rest in Pinecrest Memorial Garden.
