Mr. Mallon Simpson Henry, 97 of Bruce, Mississippi passed this earthly life on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Bruce Community Living Center in Bruce. He was born Thursday, March 15, 1923 in Bruce, he was the son of the late Luther Henry and Della Simpson Henry. He was preceded in death by the late Odell Pearson Henry.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving our country during WWII, he served 5 different campaigns in the Army. He was a Purple Heart recipient serving our nation so bravely. He worked and retired from E.L. Bruce Company for over 38 years. Mallon loved his home place and raised cattle on his farm and when he had time he especially loved quail hunting with his friends and family. He was a active member of Bruce First Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, James M. (Deb) Henry, Hattiesburg, MS and Jerry Lynn (Karen) Henry, Saint Louis, MO; a daughter, Jane (Larry) Shurden, Hattiesburg; a brother, Ralph Henry, Jackson; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, James M. (Deb) Henry, Hattiesburg, MS and Jerry Lynn (Karen) Henry, Saint Louis, MO; a daughter, Jane (Henry) Shurden, Hattiesburg; a brother, Ralph (Billy) Henry of Jackson; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 26, 202 at Parker Memorial Funeral from 1:00 P.M. prior to graveside service time at 2:00P.M.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Antioch Cemetery with Dr. Daniel Hathorne and Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Carnaigio, Joe Cowsert, Jimmy Hubbard, Scott Ledbetter, Tommy Roane and Charlie Spradling.
