Mize, MS – Mrs. Donnie "Donna" Coleman Walker, 68, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Donna was born January 15, 1952 in Pittsboro, Mississippi to the late J.B. and Annie Estelle Card Coleman. Donna retired from the Mississippi Prison Industries Corporation after working 15 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She married Larry Gene Walker, Sr. on July 31, 1970 in West Point, Mississippi, who preceded her in death on June 2, 2012. Donna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her kids and grands were her life. She loved to travel and meet people. One of her favorite things to do was to arrange flowers. Donna always had a smile on her face and loved to be around people. She also enjoyed zip lining and making people laugh and smile.
A Graveside service will be Monday, September 21, 2020, 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens in West Point with Brother Brad Creely officiating with burial to follow. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Misty Walker McAlpin (Chad) of Mize, her sons, Larry Gene Walker, Jr (Pam) of Byram, Brad Walker (Monica) of Mendenhall, eight grandchildren; Zachary Lee, Cole Walker, Alyssa Walker, Ayden Busby, Lexi Grantham (Ethan), Reily McAlpin and Sara and Seth Jobe; one great grandson, Cooper Fields; her sisters, Virginia Gillespie and Sarah Shurden. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. B. and Annie Coleman; one sister, Mary Akins; two brothers, J.W. Coleman and Billy Wayne Coleman.
