We thank God for having shared with us for 69 years, the life of Deacon Dudley Cal
Barnes, who was born September 3, 1951 in Lee County.
He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Missionary
Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was Superintendent
of Sunday School, teacher of the Adult Class, Church Treasurer, and President of
BTU. He was also on the Trustee Board and sang in the choir. He loved his church and
gave his service to the Lord.
He loved spending time with his family, farming, fishing, hunting, traveling, riding his
motorcycle and working on vehicles.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mildred L. Harrell and Art
Barnes Jr.; his sister Amor Barnes and brother Artist Barnes.
Cal Barnes was united in holy matrimony to Linda Betts. To this union three children
were born: Monica Barnes, Reginal Barnes and Sanchez Barnes.
He departed his life and went home to be with the Lord at the North Mississippi
Medical Center on October 24, 2020.
Cal leaves to mourn and cherish his memories two daughters: Monica Barnes of
Baldwyn, MS, Keisha Hill of Atlanta, GA; two sons: Reginal Barnes and Sanchez
Barnes (Jasmine) both of Baldwyn, MS; three brothers: Willie E. Barnes, Shaun
Banks (Shaun) and Jeff Barnes (Sylvia); three sisters: Marthia McClendon, Cecelia
West (Michael) and Sandra Magee (Gregory); three aunts: Johnola Chambers, Josie
Chandler and Bishop Quillar Grice; one uncle George Barnes; one niece Chasity
Tate; six nephews: Corey McClendon, Kenneth Mitchell, Jovi Barnes; Emon Art
Barnes, Brian Barnes, Willie Barnes Jr.; Children in his heart, seven grandsons:
Austin, Reginal Jr, Malik, Tavian, Dillian, Courtney and Courtland; seven
granddaughters Jasmine, Raneisha, Areyanna, Heaven, Grace, Saniya and Autumn;
his loving darling Shirley; two daughters: Reshauna Evans (Jimmy) of Aberdeen and
Courtney Morrow of Minnesota; and other relatives and friends.
