William Ellis 82, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at the NNMC in Tupelo, MS. Bill was born in the Harmony Community in Carroll County, MS on September 30, 1938. His family later moved to Vaiden, MS where he graduated from Vaiden High School in 1956. After high school he moved to Cleveland, MS where he worked at Kroger all his career. He married the love of his life Linda Cannon on July 3, 1964. He received a Business Degree from Delta State and was an Army Veteran. He was also an avid Ole Miss fan. He loved gardening, especially beautiful blooming flowers and trees. Every place they lived he and Linda worked tireless to have a beautiful yard and flowers. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Tupelo. Preceded in death by his parents Robert W. and Sarah Funderburk Ellis. He leaves behind his wife Linda Cannon Ellis, two daughters Sheri Street (Scott) of Burns, TN; Vicki Lindsey (Chris) of Olive Branch; and a son William "Bill" Ellis of Saltillo, MS. Survived by two brothers, Marvin W. Ellis (Betty) of Meridian and Charles H. Ellis (Sallie) of Oxford, and sister Bitsy E. Yelverton (Jud) of Brandon. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Myrtle K. Monk, O. Elaine Ellis, and Mary F. Burgess, three brothers James R. Ellis, George F. Ellis and Albert R. Ellis. William leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be at Corinth National Cemetery, Corinth, MS on December 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
