Charlotte Morris

September 18, 1953 ~ December 18, 2020 (age 67)

PLANTERSVILLE – -Charlotte Ann Jones Morris, 67, died Friday, December 18, 2020 at Baptist East Hospital in Germantown, TN after a brief and unexpected illness.  Charlotte was born on Sept. 18, l153 in Ackerman, MS to the late Thomas and Helen Pruden Jones. She graduated from Ackerman High School in 1971, attended Holmes Junior College and later graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Medical Technology. Charlotte had a brilliant career of over 40 years with the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  At the time of her retirement, she was Supervisor over the Blood Bank.  She was revered and respected by all her colleagues at NMMC.  Charlotte otherwise was a devoted wife and mother while not working.  Her two sons were the light of her life but her 4 grandsons were Mamaw’s complete delight. She and husband, Stan, enjoyed their log home in the Centerhill woods near Plantersville.  Charlotte was an avid reader and, interestingly, a devout Ole Miss Rebel fan due to her dad’s strong influence despite graduating from MSU.  She was a member of the Plantersville United Methodist Church.

There will be no formal service. The family will receive and welcome friends from 4 PM – 6 PM Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Condolences to family may be emailed to hollandfuneraldirectors@comcast.net.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 40 years, Stanley Ray “Stan” Morris, to whom she was married on May 31, 1980; her two sons, Nathan Morris and Brandon Morris and his wife, Renae all of Plantersville; her grandsons, Gavin, Caysen, Thomas, and Wesley Morris; a sister, Linda Fulton (Harry) of Brooksville; her brother, Ranny Jones (Melissa) of Reform, MS; two nephews, Steven Fulton (Jamie) of Southaven, and Luke Jones (Lauren) of Ackerman; and a niece, Lacey Vowell of Reform; a host of friends, many of whom were associates during her 4-decade career at NMMC.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helen Jones; and her in-laws, Wesley and Ophalene Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Charlotte’s memory be made to the American Heart Association,  P.O. Box 16808, Jackson, MS 39236.  The Holland Funeral Directors family is honored to serve their neighbors.

  1. Dear Morris family, you have my deepest sympathy. The death of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from Gods word the Bible. At Acts 24:15 it says “There is going to be a resurrection “ so you can see your dear loved one again. I hope this was a source of comfort to the family.
