Deborah Ann Turner Vaughan, 64, received the greatest gift in the early hours of Christmas morning, her favorite holiday, Friday, December 25, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital New Albany. Debbie was born on August 19, 1956 in Amory to Cecil and Martha Hall Turner. She graduated Amory High School in 1974 and was the owner/operator of American Carpets for many years to which she was wholly devoted. Debbie’s greatest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren, and she could often be found supporting them in whichever sport they played. She was their number one fan. Anyone who knew Debbie saw her selflessness and lived her life for others and many were inspired by her positivity even when life was difficult, always meeting everything with a smile. She met the needs of so many others and was “Granny” to a lot of children. She had a green thumb and loved to garden and work in her flower beds.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Chuck Moffett and Bobby Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Martha Turner of Becker; her stepfather, Claude Sexton of Becker; two daughters, Brandi Cook (Jim) of Hatley and Lori West (Jason) of Jasper, AL; two sisters, Jackie Turner Aldridge (Josh) of Nettleton and Patricia Turner of Mooreville; her grandchildren, Allie Grace Cook, Maddie Claire Cook, and Braxton West; a great granddaughter, Charlee Reed West; long-time friend, Randle West of Tupelo; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Turner; and a brother, Dewayne Turner.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Hill, Dakota Cruber, Cameron Cruber, Braxton West, and Lee Martin.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.
