He loved the Lord and read his bible daily. He was a shining servant to his faith and showed it and we watched it play out every single day. He loved his church, CHBC and his church family. He was a deacon for 30 years at CHBC and demonstrated what a true disciple of Lord is to look like.
Mike was somewhat of a jokester and he loved making people laugh. He loved going out to eat with friends, it was special to him His favorite saying, “now stay in your lane,” “not a wink of sleep”, and those that knew him knows about his sayings. Mike loved life, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always strived to be better and be the best he could be at any undertaking. He loved going to his tree farm every single day. We cherished our time together riding in his Ranger checking his cameras. He wanted a place for the boys to come and hunt deer because he knew how much they loved it
He worked for Weyerhaeuser Timber Company for 35 years and loved working in the woods next to nature. He enjoyed the timber business and land management. He was able to retire and enjoyed 12 years of retirement. He loved gardening and the fresh vegetables and sharing with others. He loved getting on his tractor. and tilling up the soil. He was so funny in his farming and had a way of doing it, his way.
He truly loved his grand boys and watching them play sports. It didn’t matter where they were playing or how far. He would light up just talking about them. He picked at them and played ball with them as long as they wanted to play from young tots till they superseded him in size and strength. But he hung with them and enjoyed every single minute with them.
One thing he mastered was his guitar playing. He was mostly self-taught, and he practiced for hours every single day. He became a perfectionist in that, he was happiest in his music element of what he could accomplish. We loved to go to Mountain View, Ark., he loved Blue Grass Festival and he really enjoyed the music. He is playing a guitar and singing to the angels and dancing on the streets of gold.
