Donnie Nell Moore

October 29, 1939 – January 02, 2021

Mrs. Donnie Nell Brownlee Moore, 81, passed this earthly life on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Bruce Community Living Center after a lengthy illness. She entered this world on October 20, 1939. She was born in Laurel, Mississippi to the late parents of James Vardaman Brownlee and Clyde Windell Lowery Brownlee.
Donnie, graduated high school and Junior College. She was school secretary for the school system in Carthage before she and her husband moved to the Bruce area. She also was a substitute teacher for South Pontotoc School. She enjoyed her gardening, yardwork, flowers and birdwatching. Her family was the most important thing in her life where she took great pride in her grandchildren. Donnie was especially fond of younger children, they always could get her attention at any given time. Her request at death was for the children that was underprivileged and did not have a home that her excess funds was to go to the Tupelo Children’s Mansion for the care of the children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, her husband, Jimmy Lee Moore who passed away February 12, 1999.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Theresa (Ken) Dye, Bruce, Doris Moore, Grenada, Deborah (Dave) McCormick, Houlka; sisters, Peggy (Lonnie) Stephens, Laurel, Lillie (Robert) Schoggins, Laurel, Annie (Boots) Harrington, Laurel, Sarah (Lionell) Campbell, Petal; grandchildren, Justin Stepp, Jody Dye, Joshua Tallent, Katie Cox, Andrea Jackson, Anna Cooper; and 12 great grandchildren.
A graveside service honoring Donnie’s life was held Sunday, January 3, 2020 at Robbs Cemetery with Bro. Darrell Logan, officiating. Pallbearers were Dustin Cox, Steven Cox, Jody Dye, Kenneth Dye, Dave McCormick, Colin Tallent and Joshua Tallent.
Parker Memorial Funeral Homes was honored to be entrusted with the care of the Moore’s love one.
