PONTOTOC – Billy Doyle "Catfish" Massey, 71, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at NMMC – Tupelo, MS.  Billy was born May 14, 1949 in Vardaman, MS to the late Leroy and Lillian Massey.  He was united in marriage to Joan Massey on September 21, 1991.  Billy was an Ole Miss football fan, and also loved fishing, hunting, and camping on the Tennessee River. He loved his family and friends. Known all over the world as the one and only "Catfish", he was a dedicated truck driver until December 18, 2020 when his health failed him.

Billy is survived by his wife, Joan Massey; daughter, Kellie Stegall; two sons, Jason Massey and Ricky Robinson(Lottie); two sisters, Linda Johnson(Eddie) and Bonnie Johnson(Johnny); three brothers, Robert Massey(Camille), Roy Massey(Brenda), and Johnny Massey(Betty), six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Dowdy and Carol Massey; mother, Lillian Massey; father, Leroy Massey; and son-in-law, Johnny Stegall.

Service will be Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Pete Gregory officiating.  Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Colton Borden, Craig Massey, Robert Massey, Jr., Delton Johnson, Jimmy McDonald, and Shane Bridgman.

Visitation will be Friday, January 15th 5-8PM and Saturday, January 16th 12PM until service time.
