Wilbur Williams

March 26, 1941 – January 20, 2021

Wilbur Gene Williams, 79, of Bruce departed from this on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at his residence. He was welcomed into this world on March 26, 1941, in Coffeeville by his late parents Bennie B. Williams and Bessie Wright Williams.
Wilbur was married to the late Barbara Jean Morris Williams for many years until her passing on June 12, 2020. The couple made many memories while walking down the path and this union gave life to five children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He spent many
seasons of his traveling the highways of the United States as a truck driver hauling a variety of cargo. When Wilbur wasn’t shifting gears and stopping at weigh stations, he could found in the great outdoors with his beloved rabbit dogs in pursuit of a good hunt. He worshiped with a
family of believers at Antioch Baptist Church, a place where he was reminded of the Lord’s mercy and grace. Wilbur did not simply pass away. He held the cure to death in his soul, an active relationship with his Savior.
Wilbur leaves behind an expansive family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence two sons: Dwayne Williams of Calhoun City and Michael (Canzas) Williams of Bruce; two daughters: Donna (Bill) Floyd of New Albany and Rhonda( Paul) Nix of Bruce; one brother Charles Benny( Marsha) Williams of Mena, Arkansas; three sisters: Ninnen (Temple) Pugh of Hernando; Maxine Pennington of Senatobia, and Ethel Lott of Greenwood; eight grandchildren: B.G.( Deana) Floyd, Will Floyd, Steven Kelly, Elijah Nix, Haley Williams, Skylar Williams, Call Williams, and Wes Williams; five great grandchildren: Tyler Kelly, Cayson Williams, Seth Floyd, Marley Floyd, and Daisy Floyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bennie B. Williams and Bessie Wright Williams, wife Barbara Jean Morris Williams, one son Bennie Frank Williams, and one brother George Williams.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service celebrating Wilbur’s life will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home of
Bruce with Bro. Eric Payne officiating the service. B. G. Floyd, Seth Floyd, Will Floyd, Steven Kelly, Elijah Nix, Call Williams, and Wes Williams will carry Wilbur to rest in Bruce Cemetery. Harrison Trucking Employees will serve as honorary pallbearers.
