Mr. Lloyd Burley McManus, 83, died on Monday, February 22, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home in Oxford. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Pastor Les Ferguson, Jr., Mr. Durward Davis and Mr. David Swenson officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. The visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Born in Columbus, MS to the late Burley and Ruby Guin McManus, Lloyd was married to the love of his life, Barbara Fromm McManus, for 66 years. He was an avid family man who was a model of unconditional love and had the gift of making others feel special. Mr. McManus was a longtime member of the Oxford Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and was diligent in studying and reading his Bible. Lloyd was a generous and giving man who volunteered his time and efforts in helping at The Pantry, Mended Hearts and Interfaith Compassion Ministries. Mr. McManus possessed a strong work ethic that was demonstrated in his vocation as a District Supervisor at GMAC and in his community where he was always available to lend a helping hand. He had an incredible sense of humor and was a known to lovingly pull pranks on friends and family. An avid outdoorsman, Lloyd loved hunting, fishing, and being on his tractor.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Fromm McManus of Oxford, MS; daughters, Melinda Swenson and her husband, David, of Alexandria, VA and Sherry McManus of Oxford, MS; son, Lloyd “Mac” McManus of Oxford, MS; sisters, Ruth McManus McReynolds of Arlington, TX and Mary McManus Oswalt of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Dave Swenson, Jr. (Sarah), Mindy Young Harwell (Jeff), Walter Swenson (Daniela), Josh Young (Amanda), Katie Swenson, Alex Swenson (Kassandra), Kendall Swenson Garifo (Nick), Tyler McManus, Taylor McManus and Zak Swenson; and eleven great grandchildren.
