Mrs. Bobbye Wood Wiley, 85, died Wednesday, May 16, 2021, at her home in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be Sunday, June 20, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Barrett Milner officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Wiley was born on July 13, 1935 in Yazoo City to the late Lucille and Robert Wood and was the widow of Mr. Hugh Christopher Wiley, Jr. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of Epilson Sigma Alpha (ESA), a philanthropic and community service based sorority. She was a cherished member of her community and served as a bright spot in the day of anyone she encountered as the teller in the drive through at Bank of Oxford. Mrs. Wiley enjoyed creating arts and crafts with dried flowers and selling at local craft fairs. She found great joy in the process of drying and preserving bridal bouquets in shadow boxes for couples to keep for years to come. She was adored by her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Bobbye” and had a favorite grand cat named Fiona. Her love of Oxford ran deep and she was an avid and devoted Ole Miss Football fan.

Bobbye loved daffodils and grew them for years, submitting blooms to Oxford Garden Club’s annual flower show; earning her many blue ribbons. 

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Anne Luna and her husband, Blaine of Lufkin, TX and Sarah Beth Wiley Smith and her husband, Loyd of Vallejo, CA; a sister, Janet Peterson of Oxford and three grandchildren; Stella Luna, Elizabeth Luna, and Christopher Luna.
