Richard Alton Smith, 60, died peacefully in his home on Friday, June 18, 2021, in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be Monday, June 21, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Quarles and Rev. David Ard officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on October 30, 1960, in Fort Benning, GA. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Airman First Class. He worked as the store manager at Station Variety in Connecticut and traveled all over the country as a truck driver before retiring to a slower paced lifestyle. Mr. Smith was a faithful and longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Riley Albert Smith, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Smith of Oxford, MS; three sisters, Patricia Mayfield (Jim) of Etta, Sylvia Zebrowski and Jane Carwyle both of Oxford and a brother, Riley Smith, Jr. (Wara) of Oxford.
