Mrs. Nellie Hortense Sims Irby Livingston, 95, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at her home in Oxford. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Reverend David Ard officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Livingston was born on May 24, 1926, in Dallas, MS to the late Albert Ivy and Nellie Grace Fair Sims. She was a loving mother and enjoyed raising her family and tending to her home. Her faith in the Lord was an important part of her life and was a longtime and active member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by her husband, Theron Augustus Livingston; a brother, Fred Sims and a sister, Vallie Anderson.She is survived by her daughters, Neita Irby Kolberg (Jerry) of Oxford, Brenda Catherine Irby Schaffer (Alex Kiamie) of Oxford and Joyce Irby Mooneyham (Wayne) of Oxford; a son, James Griffis (Nell) of Memphis, TN; a loving and dedicated caretaker, Anita Clements; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren one 1 great-great-great grandchild.
