Danny Tracy Thompson, Sr., died Friday, July 16, at New Albany Health & Rehab. He was born February 19, 1942, in Hickory Flat, MS., to Merrit and Sarah Lou Smith Thompson. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He had worked in construction.
He is survived by his wife: JoAnn Wood Thompson; 1 daughter: Tonya Jane Thompson Nichols (Keith) of New Albany; 4 sons: Billy Wayne Thompson (Crystal) of New Albany, Danny Tracy Thompson, Jr., (Deanna) of Booneville, Johnny Lynn Thompson (DeeAnn) of New Albany, and Ronnie Joe Thompson (Michelle) of New Albany; 1 sister: Janice Smith (Carol) of Anna, IL.; 1 brother: Frank Merrit Thompson, Jr., of Aurora, IL.; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Thompson, Trace Thompson, Ben Medlin, Christopher Nichols, Collin Taylor, and Fred Magill. Honorary pallbearers will be Jewel Keith Owen and Ryan Owen.
