Adam Peyton Griffin, age 16, of Water Valley, MS went to be with Jesus Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He was born September 14, 2004, in Oxford, MS. Peyton was a young man with a huge heart that genuinely loved people. As a young boy he was in the Boy Scouts of America and learned many lessons that he exemplified in his daily life. A couple of those lessons were on how to keep your community clean, which he took to heart by cleaning up around his neighborhood as well as recycling. With his love for working outside, he also enjoyed cutting grass with his Grandfather James. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with their chickens. Peyton was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

Visitation is planned for Saturday, July 24, 2021, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Rob Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sylva Rena Cemetery.

Peyton is survived by his mother, Holly Tidwell; one sister, Mallory Tidwell; maternal grandparents, James and Barbara Griffin; Great-grandparents, James and Ruby Bennett, all of Water Valley, MS; numerous aunts, uncles, and neighbors that treated him as their own.

Peyton was preceded in death by his step father, Robert Dale Tidwell; and great-grandparents, Edith Dickey, and Ruthie Griffin.

  1. Dear Griffin family, I’m sorry for your loss and you have my deepest condolences. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from Gods word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement for the family.
