Stella Ann Smith Mayfield, age 90, passed peacefully Friday, August 20, 2021, due to a long full life. She was born Sept 4,1930 in Carroll County MS to Aubrey and Thelma Smith.
Stella graduated from Kings Daughter Nursing Hospital in the 1950's. Her career spanned 50 years and ranged from floor nurse, director of nursing, and home heath where she ended as a charge nurse for handicap children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James A Mayfield, Jr., of Amory, MS; daughters, Grace Mayfield Morlino and Nancy Mayfield Blackburn.
Stella is survived by son, James A Mayfield III; daughters, Mary Ann Ballard, Danice Price, Geane Bull and Bonnie Evans.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 11:00 am, at Amory Historical Society Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Dear Mayfield Family, I am sorry for your loss and you have my deepest sympathy. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can have comfort from Gods word the Bible.
Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. And this is a promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement to the family.
