Anthony Paul “Tony” Lewis, 57, died Monday, November 15, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The funeral will be Monday, November 22, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Waller Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Lipe officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.

Tony was an avid outdoorsman, who was passionate about hunting and fishing.  Each year he participated in the St. Jude Bass Classic.  It brought him great joy to fundraise for this special event, and he never missed a year.  He was also a member of the Oxford Bass Club.  Tony’s family laughs as they recall the true love of his life: his 21 ft. 2007 Ranger Bass Boat.  Anyone who knew him would agree, the relationship between Tony and his boat was unrivaled.

When he wasn’t in the woods or on the lake, you might find Tony drag-racing or playing a round of poker with friends.  He loved to get everyone together to play cards, and tried to do so as often as possible.  Above all, Tony was a family man at heart, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first granddaughter.  Tony is preceded in death by his father, Larry Paul Lewis, and his grandparents, Earnest and Nell Aden, and Otibe and Lucile Lewis.

Tony is survived by his mother, Betty Lewis of Oxford, MS; his daughter, Meredith Bridgman and husband, Andrew of Paris, MS; a sister, Lisa Lewis Daniels and husband, Mark of Oxford, MS; an uncle, Tom Aden of Perrysburge, OH; an aunt, Brenda Hewitt of Canalou, MO; two nieces, Madison Marie Daniels and London-Grace Daniels of Oxford, MS; former wife, Tina Busby Lewis of Oxford, MS; and his granddaughter, Magnolia Rayne Bridgman, who was born the day after his death.

Expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions in Tony’s memory may be made to Clear Creek Baptist Church, 49 County Road 313, Oxford, MS 38655, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at https://www.stjude.org/donate/thanks-and-giving.html?sc_icid=home-btn-donate-now.
