Mary “Sissy” Jaggers

March 23, 1937 ~ November 16, 2021 (age 84)

Okolona-Mary Kate “Sissy” Jaggers, 84, departed this life for eternity on Tuesday, November 16, 2021from Shearer-Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona where she had resided the last 3 years.  Sissy was born in Chickasaw Co. on March 23, 1937 to the late James Edward Jaggers and Mary Belle Rye Jaggers.  She lived most of her life in the Okolona area where she worked over 30 years as the bookkeeper for  Rose Hill Company.    Sissy enjoyed life and lived it large and to the fullest!  She enjoyed riding and traveling, swimming, being a practical jokester and loving her grandchildren.  A strong willed, independent woman, she will be missed by family and the Okolona community.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Faith Outreach Church with Bro. Jimmy Bryan officiating.  Private burial will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Faith Outreach from 5 PM-7PM Thursday and from 1 PM-service time on Friday, all at the Church,   Hwy 41, Okolona, MS.  Pallbearers will be Tommy Rogers, Andy Rogers, Jimmy Rappe, George Dallas, Scottie Horton, Lee Herndon and Keith Sanderson. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona Chapel is handling the service.

Sissy is survived by her daughter, Karen Jones of Okolona;  her three grandchildren, Misty Horton (Scottie) of Amory, Dawn Herndon (Lee) of Shannon and Michael Smith (Delphine) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., 3 great grandchildren, Jesse Kate Herndon, Thomas Luke Herndon and Abbie Herndon.  She was preceded  in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Belle and two brothers, Bo and Sonny Jaggers.
