Shana Kaye Hays

January 25, 1977 ~ January 4, 2022

Ms. Shana Kaye Hays, 44, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Desoto in Southaven, MS.  The funeral will be Friday, January 7, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. R.W. Moffett and Evangelist Kathy Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 A.M.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.

Shana was born in Warrenton, VA to Robert and Sharon Crabb Mackey.  Shana was creative by nature, and was always working on one project or another.  Through crafting and painting, she was able to express herself and make beautiful pieces for herself and others to enjoy.  Shana was a scrapbooker, and it was through this art form that she could look back and enjoy the special memories she had made with her family.  When she wasn’t busy with one of these activities, you could find Shana writing or scribbling in a journal.  She loved to play cards and board games.  Shana loved to camp and spend time in nature, which brought her great peace.  Above all, Shana cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.  Shana is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Crabb Mackey.

Shana is survived by her father, Robert Mackey of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Heather Woods and her husband, Lee of Tampa, FL and Kaitlyn Hays and her wife, LeeAnn Rhodes of Horn Lake, MS; a son, Chris Hays and his wife, Alli of Oxford, MS; a sister, Stephanie Stacy of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Bryan Mackey of Jackson, TN and Caleb Owen of Water Valley, MS; and five grandchildren, Ethan Woods, Aubrey Woods, Elizabeth Woods, Emma Hays, and Charlotte Hays.
