Inez Greene Mathis
April 10, 1928 – January 21, 2022
In Starkville, MS, on Friday, January 21, 2022, Inez Greene Mathis, age 93 was received home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Corinth Church Cemetery, Lake City FL, Rev. Mark Mathis will officiate. An online guestbook is located at www.gatewayforestlawn.com.
Inez Greene Mathis was born April 10, 1928 in Lake City, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Allie and Henry “Hickey” Greene, her husband of 53 years, Leon H. Mathis, Jr., her sons Donald Edward Whitehead, Jr. (Eddie) and Michael Ray Whitehead (Mike). She is survived by her sister, Ernestine Saunders, Lake City, FL, a nephew Richard Saunders, Lake City, FL, her daughters, Nancy Whitehead Martin, Starkville, MS, and Rhonda Mathis Shotts (Charles), Louisville, MS and her sons, Leon H. Mathis, III (Matt) and Mark Lee Mathis, Starkville, MS. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
