Cyndy Marie Moore

Mrs. Cynthia “Cyndy” Marie Moore, 66, died Thursday, February 17, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center- Gilmore Hospital in Amory. She was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to Charles Richard “Dick” and Colleen “Polly” Moyer Moore Thomas. She married Roger “Rod” Moore, on January 1, 1978, and they made their home in Okolona. Nursing was a passion that she shared with countless patients and students as a lifelong caregiver and teacher. For forty years, she worked for Golden Living/Beverly/Diversicare in some capacity: first, as a RN, then as Director of Nurses, and finally as the director of the Tupelo Training Center for Diversicare. To watch her work with elderly patients was to hear the voice of kindness and observe the light of compassion.

An avid gardener and animal lover, she enjoyed spending time outdoors. Her birds were always well fed and she always had a project going. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons always insisting on cooking their breakfast. She had a vivacious spitfire personality that was fiercely loyal and giving. A celebration of her life and home-going will be at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, February 20, 2022, with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Home.  A graveside will follow at Lee Memorial Park, Verona. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona is honored to be serving their friends. Cyndy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger;  two brothers, Charles Thomas, Jr. and Clifton “Bug” Thomas; three sisters, Charlotte Thomas, Cheryl Thomas Davis, and Chandra Thomas Alford. Survivors include her only child, Allyson Moore (Lyle Pickens) of Nettleton; two grandsons, Hunter Baggett (Dianna Lowery) of Brewer and Parker Thomas Baggett; a sister, Carol Culpepper (Robert) of Okolona; a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Pallbearers will be Donnie Alford, Wayne Alford, Mike Baggett, Landon Burroughs, Jimmy Gutierrez, Chad Moore, and Chance Moore.
