Olivia “Libby” Carney, 77  passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, adored her church family at First Baptist Church in Waynesboro MS. She loved her family and her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was well known for her homemade cakes and delicious fried chicken. She was a loved Nanny in Decatur AL to Forrest and Hunter Fletcher.

Funeral services will be at 2: 00 p. m. Friday February 25, 2022 at First Baptist Church Waynesboro MS. with Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn, MS was in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Joey Carney (Kim) of Eupora and Johnny Carney (Darlene) of Waynesboro; sister Charlotte Yelverton of Ellisville; (5) brothers Martin Sumrall (Marguerite) of Matherville, James Sumrall (Vickie) of Wiggins, Samuel “Sammy” Sumrall of Waynesboro, Shelton Sumrall (Vickie) of Crestview FL, David Sumrall (Phyllis) of Clara Ms; (4) grandchildren, Lauren, Mason, MacKenzie, Drew;(3) great- grandchildren, Landon, Lainee and Remi Kate; host of beloved nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roan and Jessie McKee Sumrall; husband Boby Carney; 3 sisters Martha Jones, Elsie Gatlin and Elaine Ingram.

Pallbearers will be Martin Sumrall, James Dale Sumrall, Shelton Sumrall, Samuel “Sammy” Sumrall, David Sumrall, and Mike Walker.

Her grandson Mason Carney will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church Waynesboro from 12:00 p. m. until service time.
