Mrs. Addie Marie Smith Allen, 87, died Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The funeral will be Friday, March 4, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Ken White officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was born in Lafayette County, MS to the late Henry and Effie Smith. Affectionately known by her community and family as “Aunt Ree”, she was a beloved member of Shiloh Baptist Church. As a homemaker, Mrs. Allen devoted her time to raising her children and caring for her family. Caring for and spending time with her family brought her great purpose and immeasurable joy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Murlon Gene Allen; two sons, Doug Allen and Wayne Allen; siblings, Mary Smith, Alice Jones, Sam Smith, Roy Smith, and William Smith; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her sons, Larry Gene Allen and his wife, Sandra of Abbeville, MS and Thomas Grady Allen and his wife, Becky of Bellevue, NE; two sisters, Jean Knapp of Treemont, IL and Annie Allen of Oxford, MS; as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
