Mr. Kenneth G. Cato, 58, transitioned on Saturday, May 7, 2022, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI.
Kenneth Cato was born January 30, 1964, in Memphis, TN being the last born to Gracie Bradley. In his teens years Kenneth accepted Christ and attended the following churches throughout his walk with God: Mount Vernon (Memphis, TN), Daystar Tabernacle (Douglasville, GA) and Church of Chapel Hill (Douglasville, GA). He attended Whitehaven High School where he graduated in 1982.
During his high school years, Kenneth was a stellar athlete participating in basketball, track & field, and his most notable sport.. football.
He continued his studies at the University of Memphis and began working with the National Park Service after graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. His time with the National Park Service would take him all across the United States spreading the joy and love he carried with him everyday.
In 1993, he married Ruth Napoleon. Kenneth and Ruth divorced in 2015 but continued to stay friends. Together they had three kids: Haniel Cato, Laelle Cato and Jahelle Cato. He was a devoted Father who loved and supported his kids greatly.
Throughout his life Kenneth enjoyed hiking, skiing, racquetball, kayaking, and biking. Even though he enjoyed many physical activities, his favorite pastime was talking. In conversation he encouraged people, spread God's word, provoked deep thought, discussed sports, and more.
Here on earth to cherish Kenneth's memory is his mother, Gracie Bradley; brother, Jerry Cato; sister, Barbara Patterson; brother, James Cato; Son, Haniel Cato; daughter, Laelle Cato; daughter, Jahelle Cato; granddaughter, Hagan Cato; beloved nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Friday, May 20, 2022, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Anointed Temple of Praise Church, 3939 Riverdale Rd, Memphis, TN.
Memorial Service will be Friday, May 27, 2022, 11:30 a.m., Reign Event Venue, 3243 Players Club Circle, Memphis, TN 38125
