Peggy Stout

Peggy Stout was born July 9, 1925 in Amory, MS to Pat and Addie Mae Kendall She passed away May 24, 2022 at Oak Tree Plantation in Amory, MS.

Peggy grew up in Amory and was a member of the Class of 1944 at Amory High School. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Amory. Peggy lived a full life and loved her family.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Clarence Stout; brother, Pat Everett Kendall; and sister, Patsy Stanford.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cobb, Amory, MS; and son, Stephen Kendall Rye (wife Mary), Olive Branch, MS; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Peggy will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2 PM, at the Amory Historical Society Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Pepper officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for the 2:00 PM service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tn.

  1. Dear Stout family, one of the saddest things someone can experience is the death of a loved one. Did you know the Bible compares death to sleep? (Psalms 13:3) Just as a person who is asleep is unaware of what is happening around him, the dead are not conscious of anything. There is a promise of hope in the Bible. Our loving God has promised to awaken the dead, as if from sleep, and give them life again. Acts 24:15 says, “There is going to be a resurrection.” The bible offers comfort for those who are grieving and I hope this brings you comfort as well.
