UPDATED – Anthony Lionel Boxx, age 80, of Water Valley, MS died Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. One of six children, he was born May 18, 1942, in Bruce, MS to the late Thomas and Estelle (Holt) Boxx. Anthony was a very private person who did not get out much. He did, until his retirement, serve with dedication the citizens of Water Valley and Yalobusha County in a life long law enforcement career as dispatcher and jailer. When he wasn’t working, Anthony enjoyed gardening, and it is said that he liked tinkering” with cars, whether they needed it or not.
Visitation is planned for Monday, June 13, 2022, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks.
Anthony is survived by one son, Kenneth Boxx (Stephanie) of Houston, TX; two daughters, Margaret Boxx of Farwell, MI, Charlotte Kawalec (AJ) of Clare, MI; seven grandchildren, Hayes, Emersyn, Jackson, Kennedy, Carter, Dawson, and Bennett; four sisters, Alice Faye Decker of Oxford, MS, Patsy Miller, Trudy Story, and Sue Hughes (Bo), all of Water Valley, MS.
As well as his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Boxx.
