Mr. Thomas Richard Smith, 63, died Sunday, August 28, 2022, at his home in Oxford, MS. The family will hold a private memorial service.
Thomas Richard Smith was born in Calhoun City, MS and later moved to Clewiston, Florida where he completed his high school education. At age 18, he moved to Palm Beach, Florida where he attended Hospitality Management School and worked at the legendary Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach for 15 years. In 1993, Thomas met and married his wife, Joan, and moved to Lake Wales, Florida where both were employed at Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida until retirement in 2016. In 2021, they moved to Oxford, MS until the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Rabcow Smith of Oxford, MS; sister, Elizabeth Breeland of Oxford, MS; brother, Robert Smith and his wife, Millie of Batesville, MS; nieces and nephews, Nikki and Brennan Breeland, Ryan and Alexis Breeland, Anna Rachel Breeland and Ben Kaminsky, Jacob and Amanda Smith, Joshua and Brooke Smith; and brother-in-law, Theodore and Susan Rabcow.
